Dr. Ernest E. Just Scholarship Awarding Critera



Purpose:
The Mu Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will award a textbook scholarship donation in an amount, to be determined by the voting body, to a non-Greek, African American student at the University of Texas at Arlington at the beginning of each fall semester academic year. The terms non-Greek and non-traditional will be in agreement with what is defined in the University of Texas at Arlington 's school catalog. The recipient must be enrolled, full time, by the first day of the fall/spring semester in the academic year the scholarship is awarded.


Requirements:

  1. Has a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  2. Must not be a previous recipient of the Dr. Ernest E. Just Scholarship Award
  3. Must be a non-Greek, African American student at the University of Texas at Arlington
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen
  5. Must be available for a personal or phone interview with the selection committee if needed
  6. Application and required documents received by November 20 (postmarked )

Funds Disbursement:
Disbursement of the scholarship shall not be paid until official proof of the recipient's enrollment at the University of Texas at Arlington . Proof of enrollment along with official transcripts shall be presented by the first day of the fall semester in the academic year the scholarship is awarded.


Scholarship Budget:
Mu Beta chapter shall vote on the recipient and the amount of the scholarship donation by the last day in April of each academic year. The scholarship will amount in no less than one hundred dollars. The voting shall be done by the chapter's eligible voting members. The term eligible as it is defined by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. national guidelines.
